Proverbs 19:20 Listen to counsel and receive instruction, That you may be wise in your latter days.

How many of us have taken the time to listen to wise counsel?  Especially coming from our elders?  I know we can actually learn from everybody; however, listen to their stories, listen to their thoughts, and listen to how they were able to overcome their obstacles in life.  They are teachers that teaches us how to conquer situations that may be overbearing or overwhelming where we feel as though nothing can be resolved.  They are our light to help us through our darkest times.  Hence, they may not be giving us the information needed for our current situation, but there may be times where we may need it for future reference.

Chesley Sullenberger, a former Pilot who landed a plan in the Hudson River and saved his passengers from a plan crash states that he has been depositing information from a teenager to attending school about flying airplanes.  He then discovered that one day after hours, days, weeks, months, and years on training were deposits of information that he needed to withdrawal to save his passengers from dying.  Just think if he never was attentive during training and never had taken it seriously, where would he and his passengers be today?  He was attentive and knowledgeable to detail in order to fly planes and save lives on planes.  That's what God wants us to do, be attentive to our elders and people around us to learn different things that we may be able to use in our future lives.  It may save lives or make a difference in people's lives.  We never know when we might need it.  That's why it's important to listen, ask questions, practice, and apply what you've learned.  This not only helps you as being a strong mother in your household, but also in your workplace.

Be blessed and highly favored.
